Antennas & Tower

Chosen for performance, reliability, and flexibilty.

Tower System

The W7GES antenna system is built around an 89’ US Tower, all feedlines, control cables, and grounding paths are optimized for low loss and minimal RF coupling.

Antenna Systems

HF Beam

JK Mid-Tri-40 and JK Mid-Tri Multi‑band directional antennas optimized for contesting and DX. Low SWR, excellent front‑to‑back ratio, and strong gain across HF bands. They rotate independently and the azimuth reading is determined by 403A electronic compass sensors.

Vertical / Low‑Band

Coming Soon: Vertical-Array ground‑mounted vertical with radial field for 80/160m performance.

K9AY Receive Antenna

Coming Soon: Dedicated RX antenna for low‑noise performance and improved SNR on low bands.

Feedlines & Switching

Feedline / Control Architecture

High‑quality coax with ferrite suppression, lightning protection, and bonded grounding. All runs are measured, labeled, and documented.

Antenna Switching

DX Engineering 2X8 Remote switching controlled via MOAS II. Band‑dependent routing ensures the correct antenna is always selected. 20, 15 and 10 meter antennas can be combined, selected independently or mixed with one or more TX and one or more RX. This flexibility is available with the combination of VA6AM Triplexers, MOAS II control and OK2ZAW Stack Matches.

Grounding & Lightning Protection

The tower and shack are bonded to a single‑point ground system using copper strap and heavy‑gauge conductors. All coax lines pass through lightning arrestors and ferrite suppression before entering the shack.
